We residents of the Albula Valley are proud that the foresight of the railway pioneers and our current commitment to the RhB led to its inclusion on the UNESCO World Heritage List. We are enthusiastically continuing the groundbreaking ideas of our ancestors and are doing everything we can to create a lively Albula Railway Museum. Generous donations from all over Switzerland made it possible to convert the former Bergün armory into an attractive railway museum; After this initial dynamic, we have now gone through a consolidation phase and created sustainable structures for financing and future museum operations. The renovation work, which began in the summer of 2011, is nearing completion, and the concept of the content and spatial design has progressed to such an extent that we can now start implementing it.
