The Mathey dental practice in Bern was founded in 1991 by Drs. med. dent. Yves Mathey and Sedef Mathey-Dinç founded. At this point, Yves Mathey already had 10 years of experience as an assistant and senior assistant at the Clinic for Dental Prosthetics at the University of Bern. At this point, Sedef Mathey had six years of experience in private practice. Together they decided to care for their fathers' patients at a new location in Bern.
